The week before
- Create the product page early — it can exist for weeks before you launch
- Write the maker's comment the night before, never on the morning of
- Get four or more screenshots ready; launches with four get roughly twice the click-through of launches with one
- Tell the people who already use your product that you're launching, and where

Choosing a day
Monday gives you the full seven days of voting. Thursday and Friday are the most crowded. Neither of those facts is decisive — a good launch on a busy day still beats a thin one on a quiet day.

Launch day
- Block the day. Answering every comment personally is the single biggest lever you have
- Reply with specifics — 'good point, here's the constraint' beats 'thanks!'
- Don't ship to production the same week; something will break and it will be during the thread
- Say what your product doesn't do. Founders who name a limitation get more trust, not less

After
The launch page keeps working after launch day — it's indexed, it's linkable, and it accumulates comments. The product page outlives it entirely.
Post an update a few weeks later. Followers you earned on launch day are the audience for your next one.
